Patients > Before and After Surgery

Before Surgery

ConsultationYou may have been referred by your primary care physician or surgeon. For your prescheduled initial consultation, it will help to facilitate your care if you have forwarded to us or bring with you your medical history including any;

  • Previous medical reports
  • Lab tests and results
  • X-rays, MRI or CT scans
  • Electrocardiogram results

Our anesthesiologist will meet with you personally, evaluate your medical condition, and formulate an anesthesiology plan specifically for you. This meeting will include the following 5-point assessment objectives;

  1. Assess your condition
  2. Discuss and explain anesthesia options
  3. Reduce anxiety
  4. Discuss post-operative pain management
  5. Assist in coordinating patient care

There may be a need for more conclusive tests to ensure your anesthesiology experience is completely safe. These tests could include laboratory or radiological, electrodiagnostic or others. Upon thorough consideration of these and your prior medical history, your anesthesia plan will be formulated. An online preoperative assessment page can be quickly and confidentially completed by each patient.

Diet instructions before surgery: Refrain from eating or drinking by midnight the day prior to your surgery unless different instructions are given to you.

During Surgery

Our anesthesiology staff will use advanced technology to constantly monitor your body’s functions and responses to the anesthesia. Because our physicians are completely experienced in the latest methods, they can appropriately diagnosis, regulate and treat you with a personalized, meticulous balance of the ideal medications.

After Surgery

Immediately following your surgery, our doctors will safely reverse the effects of the anesthesia so you can begin your recovery. If a post-operative pain management plan has been developed, you will be equipped with all of the tools necessary to mitigate pain, and begin your recovery.
